blue giraffe

Something I came up with while brushing my daughters teeth

There was a baby giraffe born. He was blue in colour with dark blue patches  So different from the rest
The others were the usual shades of brown
Mum thought he was cold and tried to warm him up but he stayed blue
Sis asked him to rub against barks of trees and get their brown on him but he stayed blue.
Then all the other giraffes laughed at him .he is blue blue blue
So the giraffe started crying boo hoo hoo
His tears fell fast and furious, giant tear drops and he started flooding the place. The other giraffes screamed in fright and asked him to stop he just cried harder and harder
Soon all the giraffe were chest deep in tear water
Along came a giant bird of paradise. With beautiful long feathers in every colour of the rainbow
He said ah theres a lake here let me take a drink. He perches on a branch and takes a big gulp only to splutter in disbelief. The water was salty
Then he heard a wailing and a boo hooing.
Asked giraffe what was the matter
Told him he knew a place with many coloured giraffes
Baby giraffe happy said please take me
Didnt even say bye to mummy and sister
But very slow for the bird
Bird tried to carry him couldnt
Nearly gave up
Then a whole host of birds turned up. They lifted him up and he lay on the wings like a purple magic carpet
Flew to the place with colourful giraffes
Very happy

Possible ending one
Missed his mum. Sends a letter home that he safe with his kind

Possible ending two
The birds are not kind. Sinister. They eat colourful giraffes to get their feathers in their colours

Speech

Good morning Mdm Rashida, Ms Liew , Ms Lim, teachers and friends .

I am honoured to have been  selected  as a senior prefect, and  I will  serve  the school to the best of my abilities.

Being a senior prefect may not be easy at times, but I will try to see everything as a learning opportunity.

There is a famous Tamil saying, kattrathu kai  mann  alavu,  kallathathu ulagallavu.  This means what we have learnt is only as much as a fistful  of sand. What we haven't learnt, on the other hand, is as much  as the whole world. This reminds me to stay humble and keep learning.

One of the values I strongly believe in, is resilience, which is also one of our school values.
To me, resilience is about sticking to things that matter, and not giving up even when things get difficult. I know  this is easier said than done, and I want to keep working at it.

A personal role model of resilience for me is  Malala Yusofzai.  Even after she was shot at by the Taliban, she continued speaking up  for girls' rights for education.
I hope I can show the same spirit.

Finally I'd like to end with a quote from Shakespeare, in the play Hamlet.
"Above all else, to thine own self be true."
I feel it is very important to be true to myself and my core beliefs, in the face of any pressure or fear that I may  along the way.
Thank you for giving me a chance to be a senior prefect and I will do my best.
Thank you!

Spider clouds

Spider had a  muffin but wanted some icing
Dragged her muffin all the way up a skyscraper
Then plucked out a tiny white cloud for the most airy l8ght frosting and enjoyed her cake
As she finished a light rain started. She pulled another cloud out and created a little cave for her to dry off
Then it was evening and teenagers were out, she wanted one, she pulled a big cloud down and jumped on it like a trampoline.  H8gher and higher till she caught the star
Brought it down and stuck it other back
Now she was star spider
Was getting late and cold
She brought down a cloud and snuggled up to sleep
Next day morning she saw a rainbow. She jumped on a cloud and slid all the way down back to e

Rabbit psrty

Baby rabbit.
A bit lonely.
Big rabbits from garden

Banana ship to the moon

Boy tells puppy hebwants to go to the moon
Fairy hears him
Next day a giant floating banana comes up near his window
With seats
They climb on
Seat belts get fastened
Then off they go
Through the clouds!
Some clouds come on their heads like a protective cover
Go to the moon
Bounce around
Pick moon flowers- amazing each petal a diff colour
And moon fruit in a crater each layer of fruit a diff colour
Then come back
Give flowers to mom
Mom says thank you. Doesn't fully beleive the moon story

Song by the kids I've imagined

I've imagined how the stars look in the night sky
I've imagined how the star fish look in the  deep sea
I've imagined the pyramids on scalding sand
I've imagined emperor penguins sliding in ice
I've imagined boiling lava rising in volcanoes
I've imagined the earth just cracking along fault lines
I've imagined the snowy owl spreading its wings in silent flight
I've imagined the naked mole rat digging deep in tunnels
I can imagine a

But i just can't imagine
