Speech

Good morning Mdm Rashida, Ms Liew , Ms Lim, teachers and friends .

I am honoured to have been  selected  as a senior prefect, and  I will  serve  the school to the best of my abilities.

Being a senior prefect may not be easy at times, but I will try to see everything as a learning opportunity.

There is a famous Tamil saying, kattrathu kai  mann  alavu,  kallathathu ulagallavu.  This means what we have learnt is only as much as a fistful  of sand. What we haven't learnt, on the other hand, is as much  as the whole world. This reminds me to stay humble and keep learning.

One of the values I strongly believe in, is resilience, which is also one of our school values.
To me, resilience is about sticking to things that matter, and not giving up even when things get difficult. I know  this is easier said than done, and I want to keep working at it.

A personal role model of resilience for me is  Malala Yusofzai.  Even after she was shot at by the Taliban, she continued speaking up  for girls' rights for education.
I hope I can show the same spirit.

Finally I'd like to end with a quote from Shakespeare, in the play Hamlet.
"Above all else, to thine own self be true."
I feel it is very important to be true to myself and my core beliefs, in the face of any pressure or fear that I may  along the way.
Thank you for giving me a chance to be a senior prefect and I will do my best.
Thank you!

Spider clouds

Spider had a  muffin but wanted some icing
Dragged her muffin all the way up a skyscraper
Then plucked out a tiny white cloud for the most airy l8ght frosting and enjoyed her cake
As she finished a light rain started. She pulled another cloud out and created a little cave for her to dry off
Then it was evening and teenagers were out, she wanted one, she pulled a big cloud down and jumped on it like a trampoline.  H8gher and higher till she caught the star
Brought it down and stuck it other back
Now she was star spider
Was getting late and cold
She brought down a cloud and snuggled up to sleep
Next day morning she saw a rainbow. She jumped on a cloud and slid all the way down back to e

Baby rabbit.
A bit lonely.
Big rabbits from garden

Banana ship to the moon

Boy tells puppy hebwants to go to the moon
Fairy hears him
Next day a giant floating banana comes up near his window
With seats
They climb on
Seat belts get fastened
Then off they go
Through the clouds!
Some clouds come on their heads like a protective cover
Go to the moon
Bounce around
Pick moon flowers- amazing each petal a diff colour
And moon fruit in a crater each layer of fruit a diff colour
Then come back
Give flowers to mom
Mom says thank you. Doesn't fully beleive the moon story

Song by the kids I've imagined

I've imagined how the stars look in the night sky
I've imagined how the star fish look in the  deep sea
I've imagined the pyramids on scalding sand
I've imagined emperor penguins sliding in ice
I've imagined boiling lava rising in volcanoes
I've imagined the earth just cracking along fault lines
I've imagined the snowy owl spreading its wings in silent flight
I've imagined the naked mole rat digging deep in tunnels
I can imagine a

But i just can't imagine
Doing primary 4 maths

Song for my son

A little song for my 6 year old

There's a whole world out there even if we cant see it
Even if we feel crammed in and cooped up in our head space
There's a world out there
I wish i could roll out the earth under your feet
Kiss you good luck as you set out
Let you know you will fail and you will rise. Its ok.
My love my love you have the world within you.

The magic nature box

Maya loved all things in nature.
She took a shoe box and covered in paper and called it her nature box
She collected a leaf and some twigs in her box.
That night she woke up suddenly. She heard sounds from her box! Roars and metallic clinks! She rushed to the box and opened it but nothing!
This was puzzling.
The next it happened again.
When she opened the box... nothing.
So the next day she made two small holes in the side of the box

At night the sounds started again. She walked quietly up to the box and peered in through the holes. What a sight met Her!
The leaf was now a dragon roaring and breathing fire.  The taller twig was now a stick man brandishing the smaller twig like a sword and they were in full battle. The little girl watched with her eyes wide open .
The man was about to slash the fore breathing dragon she gave a gasp. Both dragon and man turned. The man said... monster charge! And he rushed to the hole with his sword while the Dragon blew fire at the hole. The little girl pulled back just in time. The roaring and clashing continued all thru the night.

Next day she put in two pebbles in the box.
The sounds startes again at night. She peered in. Now there were two mountains. The dragon was hiding behind the mountains and breathing fire throigh the mountain pass. The knight was not able to get near the Dragon and they tried fighting. Saw the eyes charged
Next day she added a flower stalk and a sea shell.
Flower stalk turned into a flying umbrella and the knight flew above the Dragon fighting it. The shell turned into a protective shield. Again they attacked.
She added a berry.
It turned into a sun.
What will she add next? What will it turninto
